Bio

Peggy has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1993.
She earned her undergrad degree at the U of A-Fayetteville, and her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology at the University of Central Arkansas, with additional coursework in the CEPR-Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research program at the University of Memphis.
Peggy is a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.
In Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Tennessee and Arkansas, she worked in non-profit organizations, private practice, college counseling and advising centers, as a school counselor, and has taught university courses. She served as the NWA Regional Facilitator for the grant-funded AR IDEAS, building resources for psychosocial distress and survivorship needs of cancer survivors.
She is a member of the Arkansas Council for Behavioral Health, Arkansas Cancer Coalition, Pink Divas Breast Cancer Support Group (501-c3), the American Counseling Association and its local chapters, and the Attention Deficit Disorder Association.
Peggy volunteers for Casting for Recovery, which sponsors free fly-fishing retreats for women with breast cancer, as well as with civic and church groups that focus on scholarships for women and on food insecurity in NWA.
Away from Waters Edge, Peggy enjoys spending time with family, including her husband, son and dogs, cheering on the Razorbacks, tailgating with high school friends, working out with her fitness class, reading mysteries, and experiencing sunsets on Beaver Lake.
“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if I can let them BE. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a little on the right hand corner, and put a bit more purple along the base, and use a little more pink in the cloud color.’ I don’t do that. I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch it with awe as it unfolds.” (Carl Rogers, known for person-centered psychotherapy.)
In our work together, I hope to provide a warm, accepting environment to explore and express your emotions, tailor a personalized approach to empower you to reflect on your
strengths, achieve balance and growth in your life, through the development of healthy coping skills and resiliency. You can BE your own sunset.
