Bio
Lyndsey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist. She earned her Master’s of Science degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas in 2009, received her license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 2011 and became a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) in 2017. Lyndsey previously worked as a school-based therapist in Arkansas and Oklahoma before working at a private group practice in Texas. While in Oklahoma, Lyndsey led an internship program for junior therapists completing their undergraduate and graduate coursework. In addition, Lyndsey facilitated parenting classes within her school-based environment to help empower the parents of her clients and to maximize the positive impact in the lives of their children, and ultimately their families as a whole. Prior to becoming a counselor, Lyndsey worked at a children’s home where she primarily provided case management services for students in foster care. Lyndsey has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy, and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy.
Lyndsey works with children, adolescents, adults and families, specializing in play therapy and EMDR to address a variety of needs including trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger management, and parenting skills.
Lyndsey believes that the therapeutic relationship between a client and a therapist is essential to success in counseling; Lyndsey is passionate about creating a safe environment for clients where they can work through their emotions and experiences to reach their therapeutic goals. She uses a client-centered approach that allows the client to have an experience that is based on their individual needs, with emphasis on helping clients develop effective coping skills through the therapy process.
On a personal note, Lyndsey grew up in Northwest Arkansas. She has lived in Oklahoma and Texas but returned to Arkansas in 2019. Lyndsey enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and their dog. She enjoys cheering for the Razorbacks and spending time with family and friends.
