His specializations include depression, anxiety, adjustment problems, stress management, mood disorders, trauma, grieving, substance-use, and ADHD.
As a therapist, Joel prioritizes directness in his approach, believing that open and honest communication about clients' circumstances is essential for effective support. He understands that for truth to be truly healing and transformative, it must be delivered with grace and compassion. Joel strives to maintain this balance in his work. His goal is to help you gain clarity on what is functioning well in your life situation and what may need attention, while also equipping you with new skills to address challenges. Joel seeks to create a safe and collaborative environment for clients. Remember, there is hope for change—don't lose sight of the potential for growth.
On a personal level, Joel was born in Northwest Arkansas. He has lived in Florida, Minnesota and Missouri but returned to Arkansas in 2010. Joel enjoys spending time with his wife, children, their 2 dogs and 2 cats. He enjoys biking, swimming, hiking, playing drums and learning new things. Most of the time he can be found cheering at his kid’s baseball games, having game night with his family, or hanging out with friends.
